Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is located in a low income neighborhood with most students in a low socioeconomic status. My school is a Title I school with most students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.
I currently teach in a 12:1 self-contained classroom with students who have various academic and social needs.
My 12 students are in first and second grade. They are all loving and enjoy coming to school everyday.
My students are very active and learn best through a hands-on approach. I want to provide my students with different types of materials to help them grow as learner.
My Project
These materials will help support the needs of my students. Our book bins in our classroom are breaking and we want to update our classroom library. The new book bins will keep the library exciting. The new color book bins will create a welcoming library. My students love to read and I want to continue their love for reading.
The flexible seating will allow my students to choose their seats.
I think it is important to have various choices of how to sit. The flex-space will allow students to sit on the floor and choose how far back they want to sit. The students can also use these seats during reading.
