My Project
This year brings me to a new school and a new role! So far, I am enjoying the opportunity to meet new students and interact with colleagues to produce readers and increase reading scores. One thing I noticed in all of the classrooms is the amount of flexible seating provided to students.
While moving my items over from the previous school, my two flexible seating stools did not quite make it over intact.
I have a small group of students to who I provide specialized instruction throughout the school day. From grades 1-3, one thing I have noticed is the number of wiggles they have in a given lesson. With the stools kind of too wobbly, I want to be able to provide them with something that is a bit safer.
The flexible seating chairs will provide students with an opportunity to choose what seating works for them in terms of their learning. I also noticed that many teachers have decorative lights in their rooms. With this resource, I am able to provide a cool-down space for students using the blue lights. Or, if we are in the middle of class celebrations or birthday parties, we can opt for the multi-light flashing option which will resemble a party theme!
The pens in the project are for taking student notes, and providing on the spot corrections and signatures for documents to go home. A teacher can never have too many of each and I think this pack will get us through the first half of the school year!
