Flexible Seating Allows for Flexible Learning

Help me give my students f these flexible seating opportunities. I am most excited to get the Learniture Active Learning Chair for my kids. This chair will allow them to "wobble while they work."

My Students

The students I teach come from varying backgrounds. The school community is tight-knit and we are working toward meeting the needs of ALL students, regardless of their learning styles. This year my students are comprised of both 5th and 6th graders.

My kiddos all have different needs when it comes to the environment in which they learn best.

We benefit from small class sizes, which allows us to focus on students as individuals. Because of this, I feel it's my responsibility to design a classroom community where my kids are free to be themselves. In 2018, it's safe to say that no two children learn and thrive the same way. Additionally, the students in my class enjoy taking charge and being accountable of their learning. I hope that this project can help in that area.

My Project

I am hoping to provide my students various flexible seating options. The Learniture Chairs will help the students who need to sway or rock while they work. The sensory seat cushions may help provide a comfortable place to sit for those students with sensory needs. I hope to receive the floor desks so that my students can move to the floor area to work during independent practice. The additional items requested will provide additional flexible seating options. I like the idea of the students having the cushions so that they can sit in their seat or move them to the floor to work. Finally, the importance of flexible seating shows the students that they are in charge of their learning, and that I understand that no two kids learn the same.
