My Project
My classroom hosts a wide variety of students with varying needs. These needs include ADHD and other sensory disorders. Creating a positive learning environment is crucial for student success. Incorporating movement breaks with wobble chairs and stools is a great way to enhance the overall classroom atmosphere.
Moving beyond just providing a dynamic seating option, wobble chairs and stools offer a multitude of benefits to students in the classroom.
To create a positive learning environment, it is important to foster a sense of community and collaboration among students. They help encourage teamwork and peer interaction during movement breaks. I will assign group activities that require students to work together and problem-solve while using the wobble chairs and stools. This will promote social engagement and build relationships among classmates.
I will be able to use wobble chairs and stools stimulate proprioceptive input, which is crucial for sensory integration and motor skills development. As my students shift and balance on the chair, they will be engaging their vestibular system and improving their coordination and balance. This, in turn, enhances their spatial orientation and body control.
Incorporating wobble chairs and stools into my classroom will also have a positive impact on my students' focus and concentration. By promoting blood circulation and increasing oxygen flow to the brain, the chairs will help my students stay alert and engaged in their learning. Additionally, the subtle movement provided by wobble chairs can help my students with restless tendencies, channel their excess energy, and improve their ability to concentrate.
