Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 7 and 8 years old. They arrive daily at school with energy and a willingness to learn and do their best.
Even though this is a Title 1 school with 100 % of students receiving free lunch, students work hard and are are determined to be successful.
I have 23 students, 9 of which are English Language Learners, and 3 students attending Special Education Services. Students love making behavior and academic goals in a small notebook as they strive to become better learners. These students desire is to do and be their best.
My Project
Wobble Chairs are a safe alternative to traditional seating. These chairs allow students the movement they need, while also helping them concentrate on the materials being taught.
A small group of students will be using the Wobble Chairs during small group reading intervention.
This seating allows students to have motion but also promotes better concentration. As concentration is increased we can expect more engagement and better reading outcomes. Other students may be using the Wobble Cushions to work with a partner while sitting on the floor.
With these options my students will have the choice of where they learn best! Please help our class have more options that will lead to better outcomes and success.
