Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Who's a champ?" " I'm a Champ!" My students chant out loud every day to remind themselves that they are the champions in learning.
The sparks for learning start in the heart of these children in Kindergarten.
My students are bilingual learners in Korean English Dual Language program. More than half of them are ELD learners and they need effective educational aids and supplies to support their learning and continue to grow as a champion. Having access to new learning materials that meet their needs in second language acquisition will broaden their young mind and assist them to become a successful learner they hope to be when they shout out, "I'm a champ!"
My Project
My Kindergarten class practices the daily 5 reading every day after lunch. When things are getting tired and sleepy after lunch, I would like to keep my students focused on learning by engaging them in fun reading time.
Flexible seating is a great way to boost reading to be an enjoyable and exciting activity for students.
The new circle time carpet will provide a floor space to be comfortable for reading books of their own level. The colorful seating cushions will attract the little minds to want to read more.
Flexible seating can initiate good independent reading habits and I would like to provide the opportunity to my Kindergarteners.
