Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a second grade teacher in an urban, K-5 public school that has the majority of its students coming from low-income families. Most of the students also speak English as their Second Language.
My students face many difficult challenges inside and outside of the classroom.
Despite the challenges they face, my students are always eager to get to school everyday and learn something new! Our classroom is a warm and nurturing learning environment for the exploration of knowledge and self!
My Project
My classroom has a variety of students with many different learning styles. Focusing on the various content areas taught to the students all day long can be a challenge for most students.
My students will be able to choose how they want to learn on a given day with flexible seating options.
Whether they are sitting on a wobble cushion on the floor/chair or sitting on a cushioned bench, the students will be learning in a way that aids their learning. Students will be able to rotate seating options as needed or requested.
As I stated before, students all learn in different ways. Having flexible seating options available will provide the students will a unique and engaging learning experience that is personalized to their learning style.
