This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project is very intentional for my students this year. As I get to know them more, I realized how much giving them differentiated instruction and activities spark their excitement in learning and doing work. My students love small group and are always looking forward to doing different centers in our class. I don't want to limit their space to their tables so I also use the carpet for one of our centers, but I realized what was lacking as I plan with the activities to provide them.

My students would benefit so much doing different activities with the portable desk on the carpet independently during small group as they have a bigger space to move and explore.

The portable desk will help them write, draw, and read while sitting comfortably on the carpet. I can already imagine them doing their work intently and happily as they work on that desk. There is magic in letting them do activities in a different environment other than the table.

I requested for the iPad stand for one of our centers as we always found ourselves trying to make the iPad stand. The iPad cases are already torn and flimsy, thus making it difficult for the device to stay up and causes distraction to my students during small group, I would like to minimize these kinds of concerns and just want them to use the time to focus on learning and doing their work.

This project is for my students whom I cherish and nurture very much. I am making this project for them as I know they will highly benefit from it and I couldn't wait to see the joy and excitement on their faces as they see new materials for their learning in our classroom!
