My Students
Our school is a wonderful community with great parent and community involvement. There are wonderful role models around the school all the time working with students and teachers to further development of academics and a sense of community.
Our students learn through hands-on, discussions, and discovery methods of learning.
They are very supportive and great problem solvers. Most of our students achieve at high levels or use supports in class to fill gaps. Our campus is a magnet school for ESL and Autism. All teachers are GT qualified and ESL certified to support these populations in the classrooms.
My Project
Hanging baskets will also allow students to keep their materials close by at the table to free up valuable space for the varying materials and manipulatives we use on a daily basis. These baskets will also aid in teaching students to organize their items and save me a bit of a headache from having materials everywhere!
I have elevated an existing table in my room as high as it will go to create a standing table with rave reviews and increased focus from some of my more wiggly students!
It works well for a while, but quickly the students begin to struggle with standing all day during stations and writing. To continue the benefits of this standing table but to allow for breaks I would like to add some bar stool options. Stools will allow students to stand some and sit some allowing for flexible to meet the diverse learning needs of my students.
My classroom consists of gen ed and special education students so options to be able to meet the needs of of students is paramount!
