Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

In an effort to meet student where they are and according to their individual learning styles, the furniture and materials in this project will help do that. We have students that need instruction and differentiation in lessons because of their learning styles or other intellectual needs. Having variety in the furniture and allowing them options for seating that is different from the usual desks and chairs will help. I have seen examples at other school sites on how it gives students choice in their mode of learning and increases willingness to participate in class. It also helps address sensory needs that a lot of our students have. The other materials will support visual learners and allow students to lead parts of their own learning.
