Middle School music is project-based learning. The curriculum often asks us to teach the students a variety of musical concepts, sometimes expecting us to have the full-stocked classroom of supplies, instruments, etc.
That simply is not the case.
My classroom is small and only contains a few outlets. Not nearly enough space or electric to have a full keyboard lab. However, the recent benefit of being a 1-to-1 school district is that we can give the students learning experiences, such as this one, that were once impossible to offer. My students deserve the opportunity to explore and learn about a variety of music. This project will give them that chance.
