I am very blessed to work with the best students in the world! My fourth grade class is full of bright and promising students. The one problem I see with kids of this age is focus. I am wanting to add some flexible seating options in my class, so that we can get the wiggles out!! Every student has different needs and comes for different backgrounds. I want to reach them all! This is my first project, and I am very hopeful! Thank you! If you use the code - RIPPLE- your donation will be matched!
My Project
I am just ending my second year of teaching and love it - especially the age of children that I get to work with. They are still young, but capable of so much. The one thing that has become very evident to me this year is the power of choice.
Not every student learns the same way, and yet we offer one choice.
I currently have desks and chairs in my classroom, and I can't tell you how many times I've told my students to not tip their chairs backwards! They quickly correct themselves but without thinking, they are back to tipping their seat! Instead of fighting against their constant need to wiggle, the Wobble chairs allow them to move freely! This movement allows those students to better focus without distracting others and without the falling that happens with normal chair tipping. The stability balls offer another kind of seating that may be a better option for another student. Lastly, I also would like to put two bean bags and two seats on the floor for reading and independent work time.
