Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The purpose of my project is to redesign the structure of the classroom and implement multiple flexible seating options and a variety of work spaces which will encourage my students to shift their mindset about the classroom environment. The theory of multiple intelligence refers to every student learning differently. As their teacher, I want to empower each student to choose which workspace in our classroom best meets their learning styles. Student-centered work spaces and flexible seating classrooms encourage multiple intelligence, self-empowerment, engagement, critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and motivation to learn.

I need a variety of workspace options for all of my students to be successful in our 21st-century learning environment.

I want to tailor our classroom environment to meet my students' needs. By having a variety of workspace options, this modern environment will enhance and benefit their learning because they will be exposed to multiple learning modalities and be comfortable while learning. They will experience student choice and ultimately thrive in a student-centered classroom. This plan will benefit and meet the needs of my students because they will be in charge of their learning environment. Flexible work spaces will promote student choice and they will be able to work and learn where they comprehend information best. They will also be able to be comfortable while learning which is the ultimate option that I want for my students. This project will support academic excellence for all by increasing support and choice to improve the academic progress of all students. This project will be a system to support student success by providing choice, which will allow my students at a young age to think critically, which will help them later on and in real-life situations.
