My Students
My students come from a rural community, with a school system that consists of 2 elementary schools, middle school, and high school. It is a large school district that is culturally diverse. My students come from all sorts of different backgrounds, each having their own unique educational experiences before entering my 2nd grade classroom
My students are active at their age and get excited to come to school.
We are often moving throughout the classroom, interacting and engaging with peers, group work, partner work, etc. They practice their reading and math skills and deepen their interest and knowledge in science, social studies, and digital citizenship. My students are always eager to learn new things and try new things in order to grow as a 2nd grade student!
My Project
Flexible and fun seating is something my students need in order to better concentrate throughout every school day. They are active and constantly moving so flexible seating will allow them to move and get their wiggles out while working so they can move but work at the same time.

These materials will make a difference in my classroom by giving my students a choice in the way the learn and the way they can be successful day in and day out. I think it's important to give our students a choice and this is one easy way to do it in order to help them be successful! I will use these stools in my classroom at my teacher table and writing table to give the students an opportunity to have a chair that meets their needs of wiggling and moving rather than sitting still. These chairs will also be used throughout the day at students' desks who need to be moving and will help them be successful in focusing and learning during classroom instructional time.
