My Students

My 6th grade students have a love of learning. They are social learners that enjoy each other's company. We are part of a classroom and school that promotes loving and embracing our differences and sharing our individual gifts.

My students love outside activities and playing in group activities.

They are hard workers and thrive in a structured environment.

My Project

My students work in small groups at our large table in our classroom. The chairs that we have right now are all missing the bottom of one leg. Having seats that students can wiggle on and not be distracting with would be a huge benefit to their focus and academic success. Flexible seating helps students be more alert and focused while stabilizing their core. This project would help my students break up the day of sitting in the same old hard chair. Flexible seating also promotes choice, engagement, collaboration, and comfort. All of these promote health for both the body and mind.
