Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Teaching at a low-income, Title I school has definitely impacted my students financially at home as well as mentally. A lot of my students spent their COVID school years unfocused due to babysitting, having to work, or many other personal things.

My goal this year is to turn their apathy into a passion for learning again.

I want them to feel comfortable with flexible seating. The bean bags and laptop desks will allow this. The touch lamps will be used in the classroom to create an environment that promotes calmness. The posters are motivating and also resourceful for my ESL students as they struggle to remember all grammar rules. I don't want to worry about not being able to afford basic class materials. The folders, pencils, erasers, pens, highlighters, etc. will cover them.
