My Students

Our 6th graders love to read. They do a fabulous job of getting lost in books. After only 3 months into the school year, they've already read almost 500 books. They love the Hunger Games and Harry Potter series. They love historical fiction, contemporary realistic fiction, and dystopian futuristic novels. Our students always travel with books and will often choose to read over other activities when given the opportunity. We are so amazed by this love of reading and hope to foster it all year!

My Project

These bean bag chairs will help our students read comfortably for extended periods of time. With large class sizes, flexible and comfortable seating isn't always available. Right now, the majority of the kids are reading at their desks. While this works fine for some of them, many children prefer to be in a softer seat, especially for a half hour or more.

We are hoping that with additional comfortable seating, our kids will really be able to zoom in on the details in their books.

These chairs will be much more desirable than the desk chairs, giving the kids something extra to look forward to during reading time.
