Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a first year teacher, I have a classroom that has very minimal supplies, I would like to fill it with the classroom essentials. My young students are just learning about school. They are learning their letters, how to read and write but they are often distracted and unfocused. I try very hard to make sure that my lessons are meaningful and purposeful. Parents are supportive but often can not afford to buy supplies.

My students come from military families that give so much.

I just want to make sure that they get the best education they can get. I will maximize the use of materials that are donated to this classroom.

My Project

I am asking for a set of magnetic letters and some flexible seating for my classroom. The magnetic letters are a must in a primary classroom. Research has proven that when students are able to manipulate objects, they are able to concrete connections. These magnetic letters will be used daily through small reading groups and center time.

The Flex-Space Wobble seats are something that I am missing in my classroom.

My students will use them during reading groups and math centers. They will be able to find a special place in our classroom and use them to help them understand that they need to stay in their spot to work independently. They will truly enjoy having flexible seating in the classroom.
