This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are the 3rd grade group. My students are Title I students who have needs that are existent due to the lack of funding. Many qualify for free lunch and are provided with produce during the weekend. Due to this great lack of educational equity, they require as many tools and resources possible to help to meet their needs and help them to gain the skills necessary to compete for gainful employment in the future. They require specially designed instruction that contains multi-sensory strategies. In addition, they require explicitly detailed instruction with many opportunities for hands-on experiences and collaboration. My students are also learning how to speak and write in grammatically correct ways. In writing, they are currently working on narrative writing. They are learning to strengthen their math facts and solve word problems by understanding the concepts behind story problems.
My Project
Thank you for visiting our project! Our classroom is in need of some flexible seats and tools to provide a better learning experience for them. To improve our classroom learning experience, I would also like to have researched based strategies that will help me to improve my students reading and writing ability. I have requested a microphone to help me when I am circulating through the classroom during group work, flexible chairs, and read aloud books to enhance my curriculum. With these new supplies, students will be motivated to put forth their best effort when engaging with the lessons that I present and their independent work time.
