Help me give my students a configurable play couch, flex space wobble cushions, soft cover blank books, a cash register, and ADHD therapist recommended fidgit toys.
My students are excited to come to school each day and to learn from one another. They enjoy working in collaborative groups and sharing their knowledge with each other. They enjoy using their critical thinking skills to evaluate new information while integrating the arts to show their learning. They get very excited any time we can use technology in the classroom and they aren't afraid to try something new.
Jane Goodall once said, "You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you.
What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." With this quote in mind, I want to help my students become aware of the impact they are having on the world around them.
My Project
Having a configurable play couch and wiggle seats will give all students the opportunity to change up their seating options in class. Fidget manipulatives are used by students when a sensory tool is necessary or when they need help focusing on a task. The students will create poetry and art in the soft cover blank books.
Not only do these materials provide a supportive environment for for kids with ADHD, anxiety, and sensory needs, but all kids benefit from having a cozy place to read or having a space to go to when they need a break.
I want to have a classroom that is comfortable for all learners.
