Flexible and Comfy Seating Keeps Us Focused on Learning
My students need comfy and flexible seating options like wobble stools, a bean bag, rocker chairs, and a standing desk to increase their focus on learning.
My incoming third graders are eager learners who can benefit from a variety of seating options and outlets for their energy. Their love of learning will be enhanced with flexible seating options.
My students are from a variety of backgrounds which includes low income families, English Language Learners and students with attention and learning challenges.
Our school is a Title I school in which almost half of the students rely on the free or reduced breakfast and lunch program. Thank you for considering a donation to our classroom!
My Project
Since flexible seating options are now a fundamental part of classrooms, these seating options will allow my third grade students to have comfy places to sit and help them to focus on their learning. The bean bag chair and reading chairs will be used in the library where students can enjoy them throughout the day and especially during independent reading time. The wobble stools and standing desk will allow my active learners to move and meet their sensory needs while they learn.
Just like adults are more productive when they are comfortable, students are more successful when they are comfortable too!
My third grade students are working to make the best choices for their own learning. They are becoming aware of what they need as learners and what their needs are. Do they need a wobble stool to move while they learn or a standing desk to complete their work? Will a comfy bean bag chair help them to engross themselves in fascinating books in our classroom library? Funding this project for my third graders will enable them to have seating and movement options to help them focus on the challenging third grade curriculum and meet their academic needs. This project also includes headphones that will be used with classroom iPads that students will use for all subject areas.
