My Project

Learning in an environment that is comfortable and inviting is important. Kids often tend to have to sit on hard seats and their bodies have difficulty staying focused. I have found that providing students with options to sit comfortably around the room allows them to choose a spot that will enable them to work and focus.

Empowering students with a variety of seating options increases the focus and work productivity in the classroom.

The stools will mainly be used as seating for our small reading group table. Students love to come to small groups with seating that is different. The lap desks will help students work on a hard surface while possibly working in a quiet area around the room where they feel comfortable and focused. The seat cushions can be used for a variety of things. I can imagine my students using these during reading time to have a soft surface to lie on while enjoying an interesting book.

Mrs. Hamp will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 17.
