Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have special needs and have difficulties grasping the content in an ordinary way. At the same time, they come from low-income/high poverty families, but they are eager to learn and attend school everyday. Our school is limited in funding and we lack resources for our special needs student population. As an educator, I am determined to find different ways to serve their needs.
My students are determined to overcome their learning barrier and I am determined to help them succeed and prepare them for the future.
My Project
These chair band and balance balls will help my students stay focused during long hours of instruction in a reading classroom. My students will surely take advantage of this new initiative to help them feel comfortable while promoting physical health and commitment to learning.
Flexible seating will also help my students feel empowered by gaining some degree of choice and control over their learning environment.
During my class, my students often participate in different types of activities like collaboration and hands-on activities as well as moving around and accomplishing tasks. Having the requested ball chairs and resistance bands in my classroom will make it easier to accomplish these goals with a higher degree of quality.
