Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The mission of my elementary school is to provide a high-quality education that will exceed expectations while empowering scholars to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens.
My classroom consists of 30 dedicated students.
Every day they come in with a "yes we can" attitude. I make it my mission daily to come in and show my students how to think outside the box. I want them to aspire to be more than what is expected of them. They try their hardest every day and have exceeded many goals set up for them.
My Project
My students love center time in the classroom. I have found that my resources to provide them flexible seating are limited. My students are wonderful children who appreciate all I can give them and bring to them. I would love to bring some ball seats to our guided reading table and I would love to put fidget bands on all chairs in my classroom since my students move around a lot I don't want any student to feel signaled out. I would also like some balancing disks to put in our independent reading center.
My students love the freedom flexible seating gives.
My students aspire to be successful. I allow my students to learn in different locations in my classroom. I want to provide space for those children who have difficulty staying still or who need to be constantly moving or bouncing. I was able to accommodate three students last year out of my pocket. This year I would love to accommodate many more students in my room.
All I want is to create the most successful learning environment I can for my students.
