Help me give my students the most effective environment available with creative USB lighting, healthier post testing snacks, occasional sweet rewards, and varied seating options for project work.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
These items will create an environment that lowers the affective filter for mandated testing, and rewards students with a creative and comfortable environment for their post-testing creative projects including 3-D city building, and the design of a life size zoo both requiring LOTS of tape.
While these projects serve as a decompression project after testing, they also focus on many math (multiplication of decimals, budgets, city design, area, perimeter, volume, geometry, and art,) interpersonal skill (negotiation, cooperation, compromising, emotional regulation, and executive functioning skills (long and short term planning, organization of materials, managing time, etc.
Seating cushions - all students flexible areas to work on projects
Snacks - post testing rewards, one sweet treat when completing multi day tests
Tape - 2 massive building projects
Timer - to help with time management
USB hub and cords - provide creative lighting that (colorful, blinking, curtain, and musical lights)
