My Project
Flexible seating will significantly impact my scholars learning in several ways. Flexible seating will increase engagements because they are allowed to choose their seating, which they often feel more comfortable and invested in their learning environment, leading to higher engagement levels. Scholars will feel comfortable and will focus more. Comfortable seating options can reduce distractions and help students concentrate better on tasks. Movement opportunities, like wobble chairs, floor cushions and balance ball seats can also aid focus.
My scholars love group work and they thrive in a team environment where they can express their creativity and problem-solving skills.
Flexible seating arrangements promote group work and discussions, fostering collaboration and communication among students. Every scholar learns differently! Flexible seating allows for various seating arrangements that cater to individual preferences, such as quiet corners for focused work or open spaces for group activities. I plan on using the requested materials as tools to help scholars understand the benefits of flexible seating in classrooms, such as increased comfort and improved focus. This project will allow the scholars to explore the design and cost of flexi chairs while applying mathematical concepts such as area, volume, budgeting, and ratios.
My 7th graders are special to me because they bring unique perspectives, energy, and creative thinking to the classroom. Their determination inspires me every day, and I love seeing how they support each other. Each student adds to their own strengths, making our classroom a vibrant and inclusive community where we all learn together. I am amazed at their resilience to come to school in learning while living in the consistently poorest congressional district in the country.
