This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Picture this: You walk into my classroom and there are students on the floor, students kicking their feet nonstop, students twisting and turning in their seats. Is it chaos? Have I lost all control? No! We are making use of our flex seating materials, using pillows to get comfy on the carpet and wobble seats to help us move our bodies safely. Most of all, we are still learning!
We know that all students learn differently.
Some kids may focus on their independent work better when they can curl up with a pillow in a quiet corner of the classroom. Some students whose excess energy has distracted their peers in the past find that bouncing their feet off a wobble seat keeps them engaged without disrupting others.
Sometimes, to help our brains, we have to help our bodies, too - and that's where you come in!
