My Students

I teach fifth grade at a STEAM school and work with an incredible group of fifth grade students. Our school focuses on creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. Our STEAM focus engages students and encourages them to be active learners. My students are enthusiastic about learning and work hard everyday to achieve their individual goals.

My students are active learners and need opportunities for movement in our classroom.

My Project

I want to provide my students with exciting, comfortable, and flexible seating options for them to choose to use around the classroom. I believe providing seating options like wobble stools, yoga balls, and lap desks, will improve classroom engagement while providing opportunities for students to move while learning.

Flexible seating will positively impact our classroom community through student choice.

I know giving my students opportunities to choose their special seat will help them take ownership of the classroom. Flexible seating will also help my students create spaces they can actively collaborate with each other. My students learn best when they are comfortable and allowed to move. I want our classroom to be their home away from home!
