My Project
I am excited to provide my students with a classroom that promotes making healthy, positive choices. Flex Seating - large pillows and cozy chairs - allow students to develop an awareness about which seating options give them the maximum learning experience. I spend most of my day standing and moving around, and when I work at my desk, I often work standing up. It might look different, but it works for me! I want to provide my students the ability to make their own choices and to sit, stand, or lay in whichever way works for them!
The Flex Seating furniture will give students an alternative option to the traditional desk and chair, and it will help with their focus and learning throughout their day!
The mindfulness books and cards are a great tool for when we use yoga and breathing to promote mindfulness throughout our day. The mindfulness mats are a great addition to our math centers and reading nook and will help improve student engagement while working in these areas. We are also in need of headphones this year. We use headphones for a variety of programs like Lexia and Imagine Math, and I like to have some extra headphones for families that are unable to provide them for their kids.
I believe that by helping students make good choices and by developing an awareness about what works for them, we can promote healthy bodies and happy minds! As I like to say: happy space, happy kids!
