Flex Seating for the AVID Program

Help me give my students flexible seating to encourage students to work together as small groups.

My Project

I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade AVID students. This program helps open up opportunities for students by teaching them the skills to help prepare them for college or other post-secondary options. With AVID, students participate in small group collaborative groups called tutorials. Having flex seating would allow students to move into these groups in an easier ease and allow them to work with one another in a more natural relational capacity.

Sometimes the desks do not allow for true collaboration due to the lack of shared space.

Flex seating would help students be able to share workspaces together to promote cohesion and collaboration. AVID is truly a community where we support each other. We build on that community through relational capacity activities. The parachute would allow for fun collaboration and team-building exercises. The other materials will help keep our space clean and prepared for tutorials.
