My students are mathematicians, scientists, and engineers in the making! They come to school ready to learn and they love group projects, math stations, and hands-on experiments that give them the opportunity to show their creativity!

My Project
Teaching and learning has changed a lot in the 14 years I've been in education. One thing that is evident is that not all children learn the same way and students need individualized instruction and a comfortable learning environment to reach their full potential. Students learn best when they have some control over their environment. Giving students choice impacts their behavior, as well as their social and emotional needs.
Flexible seating allows students to bounce, lean, wobble, stand, kneel, and sit to meet their behavioral, social, and emotional needs.
It is no secret that kids need to move to keep their minds stimulated. I have included bouncy ball seats, wobble stools, and floor cushions as options for seating.
Flexible seating also allows students to easily pair up or work in small groups and it encourages them to take turns in different locations. When we are comfortable, we are more likely to pay attention and enjoy what we are doing. I hope to create a classroom environment where students are excited to walk through the doors and where they become empowered, successful, and confident learners.
