Mr. Bryan from Chicago IL is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students flexible seating to help them stay focused and on track with their work while completing independent work.

Presently, I am teaching at The Montessori School of Englewood. We service a population of over 300 students with varying backgrounds and histories.
The classroom that I am working with this year is an INCREDIBLE group of kiddos who are the most caring and passionate little people any teacher would dream of meeting.
Several of my students receive free and reduced lunch and most don't have access to technology outside of school. Add to that the fact that modern education isn't built for the old ways of doing things. As the times change, so do the way the classrooms look and feel.
I work with many young, male students who sitting for any extended amount of time is a laborious process at best. We are constantly moving throughout the classroom to try and keep them from engaging in too many off-task behaviors. The hope is that by providing them some flexible seating options, the students will be able to sit for extended amounts of time and work longer and harder than ever before.
Montessori itself lends itself to flexible seating, but having actual choices of types of seats that the students can chose from will make the idea of flex seating all the more real.
