I am a teacher in a high poverty school district where about half of my students receive free or reduced price lunch. Despite the challenges faced by my students, we have a vibrant, creative classroom. I believe that each of my students can succeed with enough assistance.
My students are creative, clever, and try their very best.
They like to move, they love to read (especially with their reading buddies). I focus on growing each student as much as possible each and every day. They are happy and work hard every day.
My Project
Our classroom is transitioning to flexible seating. My students need alternative seating options to hard, plastic chairs. They want to sprawl on the floor or cozy up in a corner to support their learning.
With the bean bag chairs, yoga mats, cushions and lap desks, my students will be able to choose the best learning spot for them.
This project will help give my students a variety of seating options. They will be able to work on the floor with the yoga mats and lap desks. The cushions will let them sit or lay on the floor. And the bean bag chairs allow them to sit upright in a more comfortable chair.
