Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a newer school in a low socioeconomic community. The students in many cases have parents that are working to just make ends meet. That means it is here with us that they get all the help they need.

My students are at an age where they need help to see how they can do anything they set their minds to.

We need to include hands-on activities to ensure that the can get a true understanding of​ what we are teaching.

My Project

My classroom flooring is concrete, and currently I have my students utilizing flexible seating. Many of my students do not like sitting on the floor because it is hard especially on their back.

Flex seats and the flex space set will allow my students to sit on the floor the way they would at home, but still provide support for their backs.

It will be very exciting for them to have other ways to sit comfortably during class and feel more at home while learning.

I believe that if a child is comfortable in their learning environment then they will be more incline to want to learn. Already the students are loving being able to choose how they sit or lay in class to learn about writing. I think about when I was a kid, I loved to lay and write or read so the ability to do this in school only makes them comfortable and love learning.
