Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My special education classroom consists of resource students who are determined to learn and strive for success. They are interested in "typical" teenage interests such as Fortnite, Basketball, Instagram, Tik-Tok, and Takis. Oh, and for some reason, Peppa Pig.

These students come from different cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.

As a class, the students face challenges with accessing the grade level curriculum due to its difficulty. These students require differentiated instruction and always put forth their best effort! Whether it's games like Kahoot or our Friday Community Circles, these students are present and deserve the opportunity to be successful.

My Project

In order to continue our Project Based Learning, the students will continue to need vinyl to mass produce 50 hoodies for the student body. We were gracious enough to receive a grant for a large supply of hooded sweatshirts.

The student body voted for their favorite design and now we must deliver with some awesome hoodies for everyone to show off their Bronco Pride!

Students have volunteered their out-of-class time to take the chosen design and mass produce the hoodies. Students will continue to volunteer their time to promote and sell these items to their peers during lunch time.

How will these students know what is available? We will use the color supplies to make awesome posters and promotional flyers for the rest of the student body to see! Although facilitated by me, this project is completely run by students!
