it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our diverse Arts Academy students are very lucky to have many opportunities to create, perform, and express themselves. With music ensemble options such as orchestra, band, choir, guitar ensemble, Brazilian percussion, piano club, and harp ensemble, our students are always in search of additional ways to grow as musicians and performers.
As we have explored Baroque repertoire in each of our concerts and in our co-curricular ensembles , our students have been fascinated to learn how their instruments were different in the Baroque time period and how creating a sound was also different due to acoustic/physical properties of the instruments.
Our dream is to acquire some Baroque style violin bows and other early music materials for use in our upcoming Baroque Performance Practice ensemble.
The Arts Academy prides itself in fostering a love and respect for for all genres of music, instruments, styles, and means of artistic expression. These materials for our ensemble will continue to fuel this vision.
