My students are engaged in math class daily and work really hard to earn Fitzhugh bucks by doing their work well and on time. They get to purchase items from my PBIS classroom store with this classroom money system.
They love the different options of food and non-food items that they can purchase with their Fitzhugh bucks.
It is a classroom store and money system that allows them to learn real world financial literacy skills. They get to decide how to spend their money and what is important to them. They can save their money for bigger items and they can also spend every time they get a buck for their work. That is the beauty of the choice. Positive crochet animals, desk pets, Legos, and many more little items can be used by myself and colleagues in classroom stores. The LEGO vending machine will be a cool way for them to see what they can buy and also they will be able to buy the mini figures inside in a fun way. All of these items in this project will be sold for a few or many Fitzhugh bucks.
The diverse books help them see themselves through the books I have on my classroom bookshelves. Some of these books are new to come out and the kids will be sure to enjoy books that help them accept themselves and others. A nice sign showing we all belong will be nice to hang by our book shelf as well.
