This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher at a low income school, I see that my students are faced with challenges inside and outside of the classroom that most other kids don't have to experience in their lives. They don't let that slow them down! They are very excited to learn about being physically active and how it can change, shape and mold their lives. The joy that comes to them from excelling in the classroom is enough to motivate me to constantly give my all to see it happen time and time again.

My Project

The Fitness Trackers in this project will help my students keep track of their movement and help them monitor their activity and health in a better manner. They will give my students the motivation they need to meet those activity goals that they have set for themselves. The softball gloves will allow us to add a new team sports that we have not been able to do before.

We live in an area where the obesity rate is high, so if I can get my students to learn about their fitness at a young age, I can hopefully change that rate.

Students will be able to use this equipment to help better prepare them for future sports and set them up for success.
