Fitness Is Fun!

My Students

My students are very active individuals both in school and outside of school. I would say that most of my students are playing multiple sports at one time, exercise with their families on a regular basis, and have fun participating in multiple physical activities! Health and wellness is a major area of focus for our students! This makes my job as a Health and Physical Education that much more important and that much more fun! My students would really benefit from the use of the iPad by taking their Health and Physical Education experience to the next level!

My Project

Students will be able to use the iPad to track their fitness data over the course of a semester. This data will help them create a fitness plan for themselves that they will be able to follow to improve their overall level of physical fitness.

Students will us the iPad on a daily basis in both Health class and in Physical Education!

These students need to take their fitness to the next level and look at it from a statistical approach as well as a more physiological approach. We will be able to track data, record movement, and break down how and why our bodies move the way they do during physical activities. We will be able to talk about the muscles being used when throwing a football. We can record a throw and then break down the form and muscles being used. Use of the iPad will allow us to do this; especially when we are outside on the track or on the football field.

All we have now is a laptop that is not ideal to take outside or use in the gym. We need something that is mobile and easy to use. We also need an iPad to record movement and break down the video. The iPad will make this possible for both myself as the teacher and every student in my class.
