Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are an awesome diverse group of kids. They range in grade from pre- kindergarten through fifth and they are energetic, excited, fun and ready to move it.

My students participate in PE twice a week and get a daily lunch recess.

They are eager to learn and to engage in new activities. Being back in the building has provided new challenges. We are trying to promote fitness in fun and creative ways that get the students a workout without feeling like a workout.

My Project

We are back to in-person and doing our best to provide students with much needed physical activity while staying safe at school. I have recently discovered games that students love that involve targets.

All six grade levels are able to work on their throwing and aiming skills while actively moving around the gym.

I have been using plastic milk jugs but they are collapsing and are no longer usable for the students and can't be replaced. The pins would provide a lasting target that the entire school can reuse.
