My Students

My students come from a wide variety of homes, apartments, rentals and some are homeless. Most of them walk to school. They are diverse. The myriad of ethnicity in the room makes for some amazing discussions and their backgrounds have a rich cultural​ heritage.

They work hard and they achieve incredible results with limited income and opportunities.

In a word: they're amazing!

They are always willing and ready to learn. All they need is the chance. Thank you for that chance for change.

My Project

With alternate seating being such a great concept for my students. I thought what better way to start them dreaming about their next reading voyage while sitting in a kayak. I can already see them reading a great book by Gary Paulson while sitting in a real kayak. Oh and another goal for these seats is to put them in the water by starting a kayak club at our school. Is there really anything better than dual purpose? Thank you for making our fishing dreams better than a fishing story!
