Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I am a third grade teacher at Perkins Bass Elementary School. My classroom and I would like to create mini aquariums. We are in need of the plants, gravel, and fish. This will be a highlight for many of my students because most of them don't have pets. My classroom will use these resources in an effort to explore how living things meet their needs. It will allow the students to observe fish in their ecosystem. Students will keep a log of the day to day observation of their mini aquariums. Students will also compare their aquariums to the classroom aquarium. These resources will allow them to get hands-on experience. It will also tie into character education on how to be responsible. Please help us get hooked on science!
