My Students
My students work incredibly hard to master skills. They are willing to try new things and ask many questions. Their ability to think through different issues and discuss deeper topics inspires me every day.
I know that the right materials will help my students continue to learn, grow and excel in skills that will help them in and out of the classroom.
I want to be able to help my students develop critical thinking skills in the safe environment of my classroom. There's nothing I love more than assisting my students as they work through different skills and come out victorious.
My Project
These resources will allow students to see coding come to life. With the sketch and launcher kits, students will be able to see and reflect on different coding tasks to determine what worked and what could be improved. The whiteboard contact paper will allow students the opportunity to visualize the process they have coded their robots to perform, allowing them to see what was done and what can be improved. The headphones and CD/DVD drive will allow students to hear a variety fluent readers and help with student comprehension and turn our current classroom technology into a listening center that will increase student literacy and reading skills.
These items will assist in giving students firsthand experiences in the classroom in relation to STEM and literacy.
Students will be able to develop the skills needed to see a problem through to a successful ending. My 5th graders love to see the solution to challenges they were able to solve. These resources will allow more problems to be presented to my students through the robot sketch and launcher kits. This will assist in engaging students in new activities and then providing them with the opportunity to think through and find a solution with their robots. These resources will improve reading and literacy skills with the headphones and CD/DVD drive.
