This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing 4 year olds from the US and Mexico. Most are Spanish speaking or bilingual students. Our classroom is a bilingual prekindergarten class located on the Texas/ Mexico border in what has been ranked the " Poorest city in America,” but that is not what you will find in this class. You will find students who are eager to learn and excited for their first year of schooling. We take pride in creating an environment that gets students excited for learning to create a strong starting point to becoming lifelong learners. These students are sponges for learning and come in everyday with the willingness and determination to learn and succeed.
My Project
Early exposure to technology can pave the way for unprecedented learning experiences. By integrating access to iPad technology with the help of an Apple pencil we will be able to focus on early literacy, emergent writing, mathematics, language and peer to peer learning that will ensure their success in their schooling, now and well into the future. In the area that I serve, many children lack experiences with technology that supports their learning and development. By having iPads and an Apple pencil in my classroom, I will be able to provide experiences that align curriculum standards with technology tools into my classroom.
