it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This is my first year teaching, and I am very excited to meet all of my students. I want to provide my students with a variety of tools to make them successful. I have not yet had the chance to meet them, as this is my first year.
I want to make my classroom a safe, comfortable, engaging, and fun environment where my students can learn and grow as individuals.
I cannot wait to guide them on their educational journey!
My Project
The use of alternative seating in the classroom helps to improve the focus of students, lessen restlessness, and increase overall mental health. Giving the students a chance to choose their seating, gives them the opportunity to be 100% comfortable in their learning environment. I remember when I was in school and had to sit in a hard chair for 8 hour days..don't you? Seating such as the wobble chair, wobble cushion, and bouncing ball, provide a variety of options to choose from. The student lap desks will allow my students to take some time away from their desk to work; if they think that will help them be more successful. I believe each student deserves the chance to be in a classroom with access to materials that will benefit their experience.
I want to provide my students with the access to the tools they deserve, that will increase the overall moral of my class community.
Alternative seating also helps with behavior management. Students are more comfortable, resulting in them being happier and more engaged learners. For many students, school is a happy place. With that being said, for some it is even more so than home. I want to create a home in my classroom for each and every one of my students.
