Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a first year teacher in Special Education (1st grade). The materials and supplies that I am requesting would all we useful to our daily classroom routines. A printer will allow me to print important things such as papers for center time, small work actives, behavior plans, etc. Stools will be of great use during small group instruction at my desk.
Play-Doh and Fidgets would be of great use for the Calming Corner in the classroom.
These materials could also be used as part of a reward box. Students would be able to use headphones during work on their devices-this will help them to stay focused and engaged with the task they are completing.
The conversation cubes are an excellent way to meet the social emotional needs of students. This can help me build stronger connections with my students and help them to express how they are feeling. More than 3/4 of students are from low-income households. I want to be able to give them materials that they will enjoy in their every day classroom!
