My Students

Readers live a thousand lives before they die, the man who never reads, only lives one. I heard this quote when I was in high school and it influenced the way I view literature. I want my students to realize the importance of literature.

My students are 9th and 10th graders who love learning but need the tools in order to grow and be successful later in life.

By adding a classroom set of novels to the classroom, they will begin to learn the importance of reading and cultivate future learning.

My Project

My students are going to have texts to challenge them in the classroom. If I have a larger classroom set of books, students will be able to do work outside and inside the classroom enabling them to be lifelong learners. We will be able to send books home with students if they are absent, which is hard right now. My students need a classroom set of books because I am a new teacher and do not have any. I am requesting "Ender's Game", "Speak", "Burned", two poem books and a few other titles.

This project is important because as a first year teacher, I am beginning to build my library and materials for years to come.

These novels will give me materials to teach from for years to come!
