Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are part of a Spanish Dual-Immersion program. The goal of this program is that once they exit out of this program they will be fully bilingual in both Spanish and English. My first graders have a love for learning.
They love to listen to stories!
They are a very hard-working group of first graders. My first graders are language learners. Some students' dominant language is English and for others their dominant language is Spanish. This creates a supportive learning environment in which every child is a language model.
My Project
The materials that my students are needing will be essential to their learning. The light table and its accessories will be used during our literacy centers for word work. The whiteboards will be used for math, literacy, and guided reading. The whiteboards we currently have are very loved and we need replacements.
Please help this first-year teacher!
The timer will help my students with transitions, which are difficult for my students. My students are very visual and this will help them with their transitions. My emergent readers have a very limited selection of books to choose from. The books will help them continue to grow as readers. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
