Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These books and items were chosen to help support an important life skill or situation that I may address with students in my school counseling curriculum. Julia Cook's books are so engaging, and they would allow a young student to access a concept that might usually be tough to understand.

Students will utilize these books in small group settings which can help open up discussions centered around tough topics.

Reading a book that is centered around a tough topic can help students feel more comfortable with me and other group members. Topics such as responsibility, bullying, and personal space would be taught in whole group as they are applicable to most students.

These books will benefit classroom guidance lessons as well as individual session I have with students.
