I am going to be graduating with my Master's in Education this semester and so excited to begin my journey as a teacher. I will be starting in my classroom as a first grade teacher in fall of 2024. I am beginning to conceptualize the daunting task of gathering and buying all the necessary supplies to fill my classroom. The items on my list are a starting point for some of the supplies that I think are necessary to create an appropriate classroom environment.
On my list there are several different categories of items.
I have listed some types of furniture to fill my first classroom. I have listed sensory and stimulating toys to use in the morning or during brain breaks such as LEGO bricks, magnetic tiles, and Play-Doh. And I have listed various storage containers for all the materials that a classroom requires.
I think that all of these items are necessary for my students to have an appropriate and stimulating classroom environment. Without these basics, my students would not have the necessary materials that they would need in order to learn and thrive.
I am very eager to begin teaching and I would be so appreciative of any help to get my classroom started!
